The Poverty Free Action Team is a space for everyone to share, learn, and put it all into practice! We meet on the last Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:30 pm (The August meeting will not be the last Wednesday of the month; we will be posting a new date soon). The Action Team offers a chance to hear presentations from members of the BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, engage in discussions and workshops about how to take action, and access resources so YOU can help make change happen!
Next Action Team meeting:
The August meeting will not be the last Wednesday of the month; we will be posting a new date soon
Due to COVID risk, we are doing this via video conference call. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for the details and to arrange an introduction and orientation for new members at 6 pm. If phoning in to a conference call is inaccessible to you, please get in touch here!
Action Team members have organized a series of exciting events, from setting up information tables at forums and festivals to organizing the #rethinkgiving and Poverty Myth Busterscampaigns, writing letters to the editor and op-eds (you can read some here, here, and here). There are still many things to accomplish, and with your involvement we’re sure we can make a difference!
You can read the Action Team’s Guiding Principles, which were formulated when the group first met.
